Rover Positions:

All positions listed below have multiple spots open! The more the merrier when it comes to volunteers for the Task Force. Don’t worry if you’re interested but not sure about how much time you can commit. We’d love your help in any capacity and will work with your schedule.

Rover Site Attendant: As a Rover Attendant you would be handing out our Rover’s items to folks in need. Our 5 Rovers carry harm reduction supplies like Nasal and Injectable Naloxone, wound care supplies, safe sex supplies, and now COVID safety materials like face masks. Using our resource list, Rover attendants also provide referrals to treatment and other community resources. The Rovers are currently deployed at sites in Torrington, Winsted, and Canaan.

Rover Social Media Coordinator (Remote Position): The Task Force is looking for someone who enjoys creating and sharing posts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. The goal of this position would be to not only share information about our Rover services but to also increase discussion about the topic of harm reduction in general. Anyone looking to make creative content and start engaging discussions regarding harm reduction should apply today!

Rover Volunteer Coordinator (Remote Position): As a volunteer coordinator, you would mainly be responsible for ensuring that all volunteer shifts and duties that have been signed up for are being carried out. For example, you would make sure that any folks signed up to hand out Rover supplies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (our scheduled Rover days) are ready to be there for their time slot. This could involve sending them a quick text to confirm that they will be there and that they have everything they need. Part of this position would also include reaching out to other volunteers to fill any unexpected absences that may arise.

Rover Inventory Specialist: The Rover Inventory Specialist would mainly make drives to Hartford to pick up Rover supplies when needed. This role would also involve delivering any needed supplies from the McCall Center to our Rovers across the county.
